After running a limited schedual last year, and due to some injuries the DJK Racing team will take the 2011 year off to recoup. Due to two racing accidents Devin as suffered two concussions. Devin is taking the year off to heal up, and taking full advantage to help out the White Lighting Motorsports team to grow his knowledge. The long awaited wait for a feature win is over. The DJK Racing team scored its first win! The night started off with drawing a 51 pill, Which set us up to start at the tail of the first heat. After starting seventh Devin was able to make his way up to fifth. In the second heat race we started on the pole and never looked back, to finish first in the second heat race. The past two weeks of racing for the DJK Racing team have certianly had the ups and downs. But the outcome of both weeks have been very educatinoal to our team. The first week of racing in hotlaps we had our wheel hub break which cuased us to lose our right rear tire and end up hitting the wall and flipping end over end before comming to rest. Last weekend we hit the track for only the second time this year due to the weather. After hotlaps we were battling a motor problem. The motor would just not take off comming off the corners and really hurt us in the first heat race. Although we were still able to finish a solid 3rd in the heat things were still not right. The rain would finally cooperate and we were finally able to race at English Creek Speedway. One way to describe the night was to call it a learning experience. In the first two heats we strugled all night long finishing 4th in each heat. A combination of first race of the year and slight motor problems. Over the weekend the DJK Racing team finally got to hit the track and get some practice in! It was the first time in 2010 that we have got to run and things were great! After a few short sessions and a few tweaks here and there we loaded up and headed home. Now were just waiting for Friday may 7 for opening night! With a new year of racing also comes a new look and number to the DJK racing team. Devin wil be driving the familiar 5JR at English Creek Speedway. During the offseason DJK Racing purchased a complete outlaw dirt kart from L & J Enterprise. A sponsorship agreement was reached between DJK Racing & L & J Enterprise.
